To begin with, I've been a huge fan of the Wheel
of Time books for about...2 and a half years perhaps. Not the longest of times, but everyone has to start somewhere. After
reading the first few novels I was filled with ideas of drawings, and different literary elements to work with. I've done
character sketches, written poetry, fan fiction, and searched allll over the net for WoT related materials. Just finished
reading New Spring : The Novel by the way.
Well, I began looking for new ways to 'become
part' of Randland... I made a few sculptures heavy with Jordan related aspects. But my attention focused on designing and
making costumes. At the time it was still early in the year, the Spring I do believe, and there was plenty of time to make
one before Halloween. This past summer, beginning in July, I set out to the fabric shop and bought yards and yards of material.
Now... Whatever should I make?
No brainer question... Aiel! Yes well, that
was my first outfit, 'cause well, ya' know... Aiel are the coolest afterall. :P I had no drawings to work with, I
hadn't drawn up any plans at all, it was all in my mind. Nor did I have a sewing machine... The first few were made
completely 100% by hand, and I know that I am so very horrible at sewing in the first place, but oh well I'm doing it
anyways. It wasn't until this May that I found my new best friend... the sewing machine! Whaha!
As time goes on, I buy more fabrics and make
more suits. Hopefully I shall have quite the collection soon.....
